Evolut-Aid 9 To 5 Row-A-Thon
On 29th August, we’ll be spending the whole day on a rowing machine at the Evoluted offices. Whilst we’re more of a doughnut-loving office in general, we’re swapping the cakes for hard work in the name of a worthy cause.
This comes in the form of the Master Cutler’s Challenge, a Sheffield-based fundraising initiative designed to raise money for two fantastic local charities - St Luke’s and Rotherham Hospice.
Since 2008, companies in the region have been throwing their efforts behind the cause and we were keen to do our bit this year too.
To help us complete the rowing, we’re bringing a machine into our Lambert Street offices. Throughout the day, at least one of the team will then always be in the rowing seat - so there’ll be next to no break in the activity.
Our aim is to raise £1,000 by the end of August. So far, we’re close to 75% of the way there and we’d be so grateful if you were willing to put a donation behind two very worthy causes.
We’ll be posting plenty of updates on the day, so you’ll be able to keep track of how the team are getting on.
ABOUT THE CHARITIES
Each year, St Luke’s and Rotherham Hospice care for thousands of people living with terminal illness or at the end of their lives. Most of these people wish to die at home, surrounded by the love of family and friends, their memories, their pets and their possessions.
If you make a donation, these are some of the ways your money could be used:
£198 - The average cost for a community nurse’s bag.
£578 - The cost of three visits for St Luke’s care in the community.
£2,400 - Travel costs for one community nurse at Rotherham Hospice for one year.
If you would like to donate to help us raise money for the causes outlined above, please donate here.
